I’m a priest in The Episcopal Church, Diocese of New York.

I’m currently serving at Christ & St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Before that, I served The Church of St. Matthew & St. Timothy / Iglesia de San Mateo y San Timoteo (now sadly closed).
-
I’m a co-chair of the Greater New York Area Episcopal Trans Task Force. I’m also a member of the diocesan Liturgical Committee, and its Editorial Sub-Committee on “Psalms for All People” and “Prayers for All People,” a new version of the ’79 Psalter with expansive and inclusive language.
-
I’m a member of the Trinity Leadership Fellows 2024 cohort.
-
I graduated from Union Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity. Before that, I attended General Theological Seminary, where I served as Chief Sacristan.

A little more about me:
-
I knit, sew, and am in the midst of a project to read every Star Trek novel ever published.
-
I live in New York with my spouse Nick Montfort and our daughter Trinity.
-
I am non-binary trans. I like to use they/them pronouns.
-
For many years, I was ½ of the podcast Fansplaining.
-
I’ve been blogging since the late ’90s, as unlikely as that may seem, although (obviously) not in the same place.
-
I used to work in the film industry, doing research on fan cultures. I was a partner and Chief Research Officer at The Alchemists Transmedia Storytelling Co., and later, at Chaotic Good Studios. I don’t do that any more.
-
In addition to my M.Div, I hold a B.A. from Reed College (2008, Religious Studies) and an S.M. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2010, Media Studies).
-
In case you were wondering…my parishioners call me “Father Flourish,” but you don’t have to if you aren’t Episcopalian. Just “Flourish” is fine. My formal written title is “The Reverend Flourish Klink.”

Although I have social media accounts, they are not good ways to contact me. I prefer old-fashioned email: fr@flourishklink.com.
